SAPSA’s focus group for Sustainability is a forum where members are given the opportunity to exchange experiences with other user companies, discuss common challenges and solutions, and build networks around sustainability and ESG within the SAP landscape. The focus group also serves as a channel to access information about SAP’s sustainability roadmap, solutions, and initiatives, as well as to collect user perspectives that can contribute to and influence SAP’s continued development in the sustainability area.
The group aims to bridge regulatory requirements, business strategy, and digital solutions – with a strong focus on how sustainability data and processes can be integrated into core business operations using SAP.
The group is aimed at both business and IT roles working with sustainability, ESG, compliance, reporting, risk, and business transformation.
Examples of topics covered by the focus group include:
- Sustainability reporting and compliance (e.g. CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy and related regulatory frameworks)
- ESG data management, governance, and integration across SAP landscapes
- SAP sustainability solutions and architectures (e.g. SAP Sustainability Control Tower, Footprint Management, EHS)
- Environmental data such as climate, emissions (Scope 1–3), energy, and resource use
- Social and governance topics including value chain due diligence and risk management
- From compliance to business value – using sustainability data for insights, performance management, and transformation
- Integration between sustainability, finance, procurement, supply chain, and operations
- Change management, ways of working, and user adoption in sustainability-related processes
The topics addressed by the focus group, as well as the roundtables and digital meetings that are organized, are driven by the questions, challenges, and experiences that participating user companies themselves want to discuss.
